Privacy policy

Covers the PocketPM iPhone app and this website. Last updated October 18, 2026.

The short version

• Your work stays on your phone. We don't keep your chats, photos, files, notes or recordings on our servers.
• An account is optional. The app works the same without one.
• When an AI model reads something you wrote or captured, it goes to the provider you chose, and we tell you which one below.
• We don't run ads, we don't track you, and the app has no analytics code.

What stays on your phone

Your decisions, conversations, library (photos, documents and transcripts), launch checklists, and settings are stored only on your iPhone. iOS encrypts the files, and you can add a Face ID or passcode lock in Settings. Keys you add (for example your own Claude key) are kept in the iPhone Keychain, on that device only. Interview recordings are transcribed on your iPhone with Apple's speech technology and deleted afterwards, unless you turn on "Keep interview recordings".

You can erase all of it at any time with "Delete all my data" in Settings, or by deleting the app.

When something leaves your phone

Only when you ask the app to use an AI service or export something. Each service handles what it receives under its own terms and privacy policy.

• Claude with your own key. Your text and images go straight from your phone to Anthropic, under your own Anthropic account. We never see them.
• Claude through your PocketPM account. Your message goes to our server, which checks your account and plan, passes the request to Anthropic, and returns the answer. We don't store the content. We record only how many messages you sent and the token totals, per day.
• OpenAI or Google Gemini with your own key. If you choose one of these providers, the content goes straight from your phone to OpenAI or Google, under your own account.
• Voice notes ("Talk it out"). The recording is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, using your own OpenAI key. This only happens if you add that key. Library interviews are transcribed on your phone instead and never leave it.
• Apple Intelligence. Runs on your iPhone. Turn on "Keep chats on this device" and nothing is sent to Claude.
• Exports. Content goes to Linear, Jira or Notion only when you tap export, using the tokens or webhook you set up. Slack and email drafts are copied to your clipboard only; the copy is marked local-only and expires after 10 minutes.

Your account (optional)

If you sign in with Apple, we store the email address Apple gives us (this can be Apple's private relay address), a user ID, your plan, and your daily message and token counts. That is all. It is held in a database hosted by Supabase in the United States. "Delete account" in Settings removes it.

This website and the launch list

If you join the launch-updates list we store the email address you type and the date. We use it once, to tell you when PocketPM launches, and we don't share it for marketing. The website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The database can be written to from this site but not read from it.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites.
• The app has no advertising or analytics code.
• We don't use your content to train models. We never see it, apart from the pass-through described above.

Security

Connections use HTTPS. Keys stay in the iPhone Keychain. Our database limits each account to its own rows, and the server's private keys never ship in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we built this one so there is very little to protect on our side.

How long we keep things

• On your phone: until you delete it or the app.
• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Launch-list email: until you ask us to remove it.
• Our hosting provider may keep routine server logs, such as IP address and time, for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.

Recording other people

Laws about recording conversations vary, and some places need everyone's consent. The app asks you to confirm that everyone agrees before each interview recording, but getting that consent is your responsibility.

Children

PocketPM is built for working professionals and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Most of it you can delete yourself in the app. For anything else, or for the launch list, email privacy@getheroeq.com and we'll respond promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
